Charities

We believe it is so important for our children to understand the purpose of charitable organisations, how they're formed and what they do.

We have a hard-working School Council and a Charities Team who both meet regularly to discuss how they are going to raise funds and for which charity they want to do this for.

In 2023/24, the key charity we supported was The Marine Conservation Society.

Dear Staff and Pupils,

Thank you so much for supporting our work and raising £779.23 for the Marine Conservation Society. What an incredible amount! It would be lovely if you could get in touch and let us know how you raised it.

Did you know?

  • Our ocean is full of incredible marine life, but it also provides the oxygen we need to breathe, and helps us fight climate change by storing huge amounts of carbon.
  • Marine plants and algae produce over 50% of the oxygen we breathe.
  • In the UK we have around 7,723 miles of coastline, with sandy bays, rugged shores, caves and cliffs. Beneath the waves are varied landscapes too, with undersea cliffs, caves, plains and dunes.
  • The ocean is incredibly diverse and is home to 50-80% of all life on Earth. The majority of this diversity is found in productive shallow seas.

We believe you have a real part to play in the future of our oceans and the work the Marine Conservation Society does, and I would like to thank you once again, from all of us at Marine Conservation Society, for your support.
