Changemakers

What is a Changemaker?

A Changemaker is someone who demonstrates that they go above and beyond to do something they believe in, even if it means sacrificing something for themselves. For example, cutting off their hair to donate to The Princess Trust or raising money to give to a charity that they think is worthwhile, or simply helping someone in need.

Our hope is that by raising the profile of certain charities, recognising people who champion others and by teaching our children that many people in the world do not have the same privileges as they may do, we will open the children's eyes to a greater awareness.

Our aim is to show all children in our school that we should show love and respect and have care and compassion for all people regardless of their ethnicity, religion, position in life, status or views. Through promoting ‘Changemakers’ we encourage the children to think how they can create a positive change and how they can make a difference.

We are educating our future leaders, empowering a humbler generation and allowing the world to become a better place. Therefore, it is key for children to understand that they have a role to play in the world right now and that they can be a small part of a change for good.

We celebrate children making sacrifices to benefit others, of making a stand against injustice or by simply persevering in the face of barriers. These children are Changemakers!
